Description: The Bowling Cox Yates Papers were donated to Kennesaw State University in 1998 by Yates’ daughter, Julia Yates Maloney. Mr. Yates was the first superintendent of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, and played a central role in the park’s early development. After retiring from the National Park Service, he taught history at Reinhardt College. For years he wrote a regular newspaper column on local history.
